Beavers
Beaver Scouts are 6- to 8-year-olds who participate in fun and adventurous activities that foster teamwork, friendship, and confidence, such as exploring the outdoors, building dens, doing crafts, playing games, and going on local trips or sleepovers. Through these activities, Beavers learn new skills, help their communities, and work towards earning badges and awards.
We are an active colony so we try to do as many different things as possible. We do activities inside our regular meeting place, we also do lots outside and sometimes we go on day visits.
We play games, do crafts, make new friends, explore the outdoors, create things and eventually when the beavers become 8yrs, they move up to cubs.
Beavers meet every Thursday from 5.45 to 7.00. If your child wishes to join, please get in touch using the form on the contact us page or ring Becky on 741393.
Cubs
Age 8 to 10½ years, Cub Scouts learn new skills, go on adventures like camping and hiking, and help their communities by undertaking projects and activities. They have fun with friends in small groups called “Packs,” learn about teamwork and leadership, and work towards earning badges to show off their achievements.
Cubs do a wide range of activities, including the occasional camp. Activities range from playing games to fire lighting, knotting, archery, hiking and cooking – we like to give the Cubs an experience of the adventure that Scouting has to offer!
Our programme is carefully planned according to the “Balanced Programme” philosophy that scouting promotes in order to provide a wide range of activities and experiences.
Cubs meet every Wednesday from 6.00 to 7.30. If your child wishes to join, please get in touch using the form on the contact us page or ring Oli on 531238.
Scouts
Age 10½ to 14 years, Scouts do a wide range of fun, adventurous, and community-focused activities that help them develop essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and communication.
Scouts are at the age where they can experience the true adventure that Scouting has to offer – from arts and crafts in the meeting place to jumping off cliffs, climbing, hiking, sailing, raft building and many more! We aim to give scouts a wide range of experiences so they can learn some new skills by accident along the way.
Scouts meet every Tuesday from 6.45 to 8.30. If your child wishes to join, please get in touch using the form on the contact us page or ring Kathy on 07783 536 379 .
Explorers
Age 14 to 18 years, Explorer Scouts do a wide range of adventurous and practical activities, such as hiking, kayaking, and climbing, and international expeditions. They also gain valuable life skills, like leadership and event planning, work towards top awards, and participate in community volunteering.
The Explorer programme is designed by the Explorers themselves, giving them the freedom to choose what they are passionate about and encouraging independence. There are no real limits to what can be done – we regularly go camping, do day visits, and even just chill out together round a camp fire!
Explorers meet every Thursday from 7.30 to 9.30. If your child wishes to join, please get in touch using the form on the contact us page or ring Chris on 740397
